These taster workshops are for anyone who considers themselves a creative, or would like to become one. Explore the spontaneous creation of performance art involving singing, spoken word, movement, and musical instruments (participants who play an instrument are welcome to bring one). Led by Mae McKenna, a singer, recording artist and producer with experience in coaching professional and emerging artists, each workshop begins with guided meditation and improvisation games to stimulate the imagination, followed by an exploration of ideas and skills that emerge organically from the group. Work together to shape it into a performance. Participants are asked to leave preconceived ideas at the door and immerse themselves fully in the present moment. Workshops can be attended individually or as a series, with each session offering a complete experience. Join is for one or both of these tasters! Mae McKenna began her career as a critically acclaimed Celtic singer, recording 6 albums over 3 decades. A pioneer in her field, she was one of the first British women to both produce and write her own material. Mae went on to become one of the UK’s most successful session singers, lending her voice to Hollywood films, commercials and television shows. Her exceptional ability to arrange vocal harmonies spontaneously led to creative contributions on over 200 top 20 hit records.
