This session is for anyone who has already completed a First Response Theory (Module 10A) course either online or in person This drop in session will cover: Recovery Position Safe Airway and CPR for an Adult, Juvenile and Infant Choking for Adult, Juvenile and Infant Using a Automated External Defibrillator This session will be run as a drop in and you will arrange a time to call in with the instructor

District Open Shoot - 2026/06

The Target Sports Activity Team are running an “Open Shoot” which any Cub, Scout, Explorer or Young Leader can participate in. The idea behind the sessions are to give young people in the district the opportunity to have a taster of the activity. If interested they can attend the shoot regularly and train for the upcoming District and County Shooting competitions. Target shooting is an internationally-recognised sport which features in both the Commonwealth and Olympic Games and is great way for young people to learn focus, discipline and attention to detail. It is also of course extremely fun and gratifying when you hit something! Participation in multiple open shoot events will count towards the Master at Arms badge. Format There will be several one hour sessions run throughout the day: Each session can accommodate 12 participants . Each person will be limited to one time slot in order to give as many people as possible an opportunity to take part. Shooting will take place from a distance of 6 yards using 0.177 air rifle. Who Can Attend? Any Cub, Scout, Explorer or Young Leader. You can come alone and make some new friends or with some friends from the same pack/troop/unit. There is no requirement for you to bring a leader with you but they are of course welcome. What To Wear/Bring Comfortable clothing but if you’d like to wear a necker we’ll be wearing ours!

MiDAS Minibus Driver Assessment - June 2026

MiDAS is the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme, organised by the Community Transport Association U.K. (CTA) which promotes a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers. It is a membership based scheme that has been designed to enhance minibus driving standards and promote the safer operation of minibuses. It is a requirement for volunteers in Mersey Weaver who wish to drive a Minibus as well as users of Mersey Weaver’s Minibuses to have completed MiDAS Training (or a recognised equivalent training scheme) within the previous 4 years, or have passed the additional DVLA D1 Driving Test and hold a current CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) for D1 class vehicles. You must have completed MiDAS Online Theory Training before booking on to this Minibus Practical Session. For full details, and to purchase a pass to complete the MiDAS Online Theory Training please click here. Once you have successfully completed your MiDAS Online Theory Training, you will need to attend an individual Practical Session and Driving Assessment with our MiDAS Driver Assessor. This will take approximately one hour to complete including 40-45 minutes driving. Closer to the time, our Transport Team Leader will arrange a slot for you to attend the course at our District Scout Centre in Frodsham.
