About this event

November has been another busy month for the Family History Group. Our Thursday afternoon meetings continue as we try and get back to normal after restrictions. We meet every Thursday afternoon 1.00 3.00 pm in Desborough Heritage Centre. The group remains busy with new projects as well as our family history research. Our November zoom meeting was a success with two very interesting talks. Liz Harris started the meeting, presenting "1952 The Blissett family in Nichols Street". We hope other members will also tell us about their family's life in 1952, contributing to our next project celebrating the Queens Jubilee. Stuart Irons presented the second talk, "Desborough Carnivals up to 1939". He started with two films of past carnivals from 1950 and 1960; there were lots of old familiar faces and all members were reminded how big the carnivals were and how well supported. There will be a part two to this talk which will take us up to 1970.
