About this event

Join us for our community dig and get a taster of what it’s like to be an Archaeologist! Get hands on and have a do at some digging in a test pit, with expert support from our Archaeologist and Weston’s Archaeological Society. Sort through and identify any finds and learn about the the processes that Archaeologists follow on a real dig. Session dates and times: Wednesday 29th July – 10:30-11:30, 12-1, 1:30-2:30 Thursday 30th July – 10:30-11:30, 12-1, 1:30-2:30 These sessions will take place in Ellenborough Park East (near the Tropicana, next to the bend, with the play park, as opposed to Ellenborough Park West, which is closer to the seafront). There will be pre-prepared trenches and all equipment will be supplied, attendees just need to wear sensible clothing and be prepared for all weathers. Tickets for sessions cost £7.50 per child and can be purchased via Ticketsource or by calling or popping in to the museum. Pre-booking is essential. These sessions are most suitable for children of school age and their grown-ups; accompanying adults do not need to purchase a separate ticket.
