Join us for an evening with local, award-winning painter Suzy Southerton. Suzy will demonstrate how she paints hares. These shy creatures are one of her particular passions, with their secretive nature and feisty antics during mating season. At the beginning of each year, Suzy sketches hares gearing up for the Spring, and then produces a series of paintings. Free to members – guests always welcome, pay £6 at the door

Demonstration by Artist Gary Spencer - How to critique a painting

After an extensive education in art culminating in his time at Goldsmiths Gary has become an accomplished painter and educator and exhibits across the Uk. Gary is well known for the depth of his art history knowledge too but he will join us for this Demo to discuss how we can critique our own work. To that end.. Please bring a painting along which you are happy for Gary to critique and bring out the fundamental things which make a good painting. This doesn’t need to be your ‘best work or a finished work’. Gary has an encouraging manner, so don’t be frightened to bring along a painting you’re struggling with. The session is designed to be a friendly and educational ! He has been invited back to repeat this exercise so it’s one to look forward to and definitely worth participating in. Free to members Guests welcome £6.00 at the door Venue TBC ( likely Lindslade School see below)
