An enjoyable and inspiring workshop where you’ll learn the expressive techniques I use in my own painting practice. Process-led: expressive landscape created through loose movement and layered texture Come and join me for a fun, inspiring morning where you’ll learn how to create a beautiful expressive meadow landscape. In just 3½ hours, you’ll learn the techniques and materials I use in my own work to create a richly textured landscape painting of your own. Working with acrylics on board, you’ll be guided step by step to create your own piece to take home and be proud of, with the understanding and confidence to keep refining it further if you wish. Run from the comfort of my Studio in Ditchling, in a supportive and nurturing environment with an intimate group of up to six people, allowing one to one tuition. Suitable for all artistic abilities, even if you’re a complete novice, the methods we’ll be using are easy to learn and apply. The cost is £60 per person, including quality artists’ paints, boards, and a range of inspiring materials to experiment with. You don’t need to bring a thing, just come along and create your own little work of art! Free onsite parking.

'Meadow Alchemy' 3½ Hour Painting Workshop

An immersive and inspiring workshop where you’ll learn the expressive techniques I use in my own painting practice. Process-led: paint rolling, dripping & spattering with sculpted impasto flowers ‘Meadow Alchemy’ explores a process-led approach to creating a contemporary wildflower landscape using acrylics on board. We’ll start by setting the scene and applying a soft gradient background. From there, we’ll add movement and energy with loose layers of wild grasses and stems, using different techniques such as paint rolling, dripping, and playful paint spattering. Full Afternoon Landscape Painting Workshop – June Poppies, Wild Meadow Light & Summer Colour 12.30-5pm A 4½ hour immersive landscape painting workshop Join me in the studio this June for a relaxed and immersive full afternoon landscape painting workshop, where we’ll be creating this atmospheric wild meadow scene, filled with vibrant poppies and delicate summer wildflowers. In this workshop, we’ll explore a luminous meadow where bright red poppies rise through soft grasses and scattered blooms, set against a hazy, light-filled sky. The focus will be on capturing depth, movement, and that sense of warmth and stillness you get on a summer’s day in the countryside. Although this is a single afternoon session, the workshop is thoughtfully structured to allow you to work in a focused and immersive way. To enable the painting to be completed within one session, it is created on a 30cm x 27cm x 3mm MDF board — a beautifully responsive and durable surface that works perfectly with layered acrylic techniques and is ideal for framing, which many participants choose to do after the session. Working with acrylics on board, I’ll guide you step by step through my layered painting process — building an airy background, developing loose, flowing grasses, and adding expressive poppies with confident, gestural marks.

July Seasonal Landscape Painting Course – Golden Evening Meadow Inspired by the warmth and beauty of a summer evening in the Sussex countryside, this month’s landscape captures a wildflower meadow bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun. Vibrant poppies dance amongst delicate cow parsley and grasses, while the last rays of sunlight filter through the trees, creating a scene rich in atmosphere, colour, and light. Over four weekly sessions, we’ll explore how to capture the magic of evening light within the landscape, using layered acrylic techniques to create depth, luminosity, and a strong sense of place. You’ll learn how to paint glowing skies, atmospheric effects, sunlit meadows, and distant trees, while developing confidence in composition, colour mixing, texture, and expressive mark-making. As with all my landscape courses, I’ll be sharing many of the techniques I use within my own professional painting practice, helping you create a finished artwork that captures the fleeting beauty of a summer in acrylics on 45 × 38 cm board, you will be guided step by step through my layered organic landscape process, learning how to build natural meadow depth, create luminous light effects and develop expressive texture through grasses and wildflowers.
