Pendant / earrings workshop with stone setting (BH22W6YHb) Learn wire forming techniques and cabochon stone setting on this four hour silver jewellery making course. You will be gently guided through a multitude of silver jewellery techniques to enable you to make a pendant, ring or pair of earrings in wire and add a pre made stone setting to your design. you also have the option to make a ring holder pendant too. You will learn how to: Form wire using pliers, mallets and formers File wire to create good connections for soldering Solder your forms and cabochon stone setting Sand your work to create even surfaces Set a cabochon stone into your work Polish your piece Materials: In addition to the course fee (approximately £20-£40 depending on your designs and stone you choose) Tutor: Josh Level: Suitable for beginners and those with some experience are welcome too Please read the cancellation policy before booking! Keum-Boo Pendant / Earrings Workshop – Adding gold to fine silver (BF04X4YHa) On this 3.5 hour course you will be guided through the ancient Korean technique of Keum-boo to create a design of your choice. Learn how to make a beautiful textured pendant or pair of earrings in fine silver and add a striking detail of 24ct gold. You will: Test applying textures on metal using papers and fabrics in a rolling mill and a range of hammers Design your pendant or earrings Cut the gold Keum-boo foil to the desired shape using paper cutting stamps, scissors or craft knife Apply gold foil onto your fine silver sheet using heat and pressure Roll or hammer your texture Cut sheet metal using disc cutters, shaped cutters, piercing saw or shears File and sand shape to refine design Burnish edges Add fittings and findings to complete design Materials: Included in the course fee Tutor: Beccy Level: Perfect for total beginners as well as those with some experience Please read the cancellation policy before booking You can view all of our other courses here. You will incorporate striking textured elements to make your piece uniquely yours. Under expert guidance you’ll discover traditional metalworking techniques whilst crafting a silver or copper leaf you’ll be proud to wear or gift. This session is perfectly suited for complete beginners – no jewellery making experience needed. The relaxed, supportive environment allows you to explore learning at a comfortable pace, with expert demonstration and assistance at every step.
