From Bingo to Broadway! by Perri Ann Barley From false teeth to footlights……’eyes down’ for the performance of their lives! When the residents at Broadway Retirement & Care Home discover there's no money in the activities budget to help support residents with dementia, they hatch an ambitious plan: They will stage a full-blown Variety Performance to raise the vital funds! What begins as a modest fundraiser quickly spirals into organised chaos as unlikely stars emerge — a tap-dancing ex-royal boot polisher, an aspiring comedian with terrible jokes, an amateur magician whose tricks have seen better days and a group of singers who can’t remember the words….what else could possibly go wrong? But as opening night approaches, the residents discover that the real success of their show isn’t measured in ticket sales, but in friendship, resilience, and the joy of proving that life’s biggest moments don’t end with retirement. A laugh-out-loud comedy filled with warmth, wit, and heart — this is a celebration of growing older, staying curious, and refusing to go quietly.
