Exploring Intaglio: 5 Week Afternoon Course starting
Local gemAbout this event
Date(s): Every Tuesday Afternoon for five weeks starting 3rd November Time: 2pm - 5pm Tutor: Lynn Bailey Experience: Beginners welcome but we recommend taking the ‘Introduction to Printmaking’ Course first. Also suitable for printmakers wanting a refresher or change in their practice. Location: Print Workshop, Lower Ground Floor, Exeter Phoenix What you'll learn: On this self-directed course you can explore the potential of your chosen intaglio process, (drypoint, etching, collagraph, photo etching, silk aquatint, mezzotint etc). If you are unsure about where you would like to start, you will be offered drypoint or collagraph as an intuitive process to start with. The learning ethos will be one of individual development and self-directed exploration. Help and inspiration will be given throughout to enable development and further creative printmaking. We aim for it to be fun, relaxed, supportive and encouraging. Materials and Equipment: General shared tools and equipment are provided on the course but there are charges for additional papers and inks. You will only need to pay a modest fee for the type of paper, ink, and plates / consumables you actually use. That way, you can be as modest or as extravagant as you like. On the day : Tea and coffee will be available in the workshop. The Exeter Phoenix Café is also open should you wish to purchase other refreshments during the workshop.
