Join us at Chippenham Museum for a special illustrated talk with local historian Mike Stone. Discover the fascinating evolution of the Chippenham Carnival, from its origins in 1889 as a hospital fundraiser and the legendary ‘motor-khana’ displays in John Coles Park, to the colourful modern-day parades through the town. With the new Carnival returning on Saturday 4 July after several years away, come and see how this tradition has evolved over the decades. Got memories? We want to see them! Bring along your old photos or ephemera, as we’d love to add your stories to our collection. Please note, the doors will open at 5.15pm.
