Sustainable Farming Special Interest Group (SIG) Date: Tuesday 14 July (10:00 – 16:00) Venue: Rothamsted Research, Harpenden To celebrate the new expanded Sustainable Farming SIG, this event brings together sustainable agriculture and forestry with pollination and parasitoids, under the theme ‘co-benefits and trade-offs’. It’s an opportunity to explore the different needs of insects in a productive landscape, and how to apply entomology towards systems that work for both society and nature. After keynote talks from experts in the field, and posters and flash talks, we will get hands on with application. The afternoon will focus on practical activities, with a site tour, and getting out in the fields will be lots of opportunity to discuss key themes during activities. Join us for: Two expert keynote talks Flash-talks and Posters A tractor tour of Rothamsted Research including the famous long-term experiments A visit to the Rothamsted Insect survey suction and moth traps Field entomology: sampling insects from farm habitats (weather dependant) Plenty of time for networking and discussion Learn more about our Sustainable Farming Special Interest Group and the Convenors.
