Experience the power, pageantry and everyday life of the Middle Ages at Corfe Castle during this action-packed Knights and Castles weekend. Meet Sir Stephen de Blenerhayset, a fearless knight always on the lookout for new squires to train, and Lady Eleanor, the true power behind the castle walls. While Sir Stephen dreams of glory on the battlefield, Lady Eleanor keeps the household running, settles disputes and quietly experiments with medieval medicines and potions. Enjoy a lively programme of interactive live shows throughout the day. Take part in Knight School, where aspiring squires can learn what it really took to become a knight, from discipline and training to sword skills, with the chance to earn a knighthood of their own. Join in with medieval dancing, discovering how nobles celebrated at feasts and banquets, before turning your hand to engineering and warfare in the thrilling Castle Siege. Build a castle, learn how it was defended, then put it to the test with catapults and siege tactics. Explore the Medieval Games Arena, open all day and filled with hands-on games inspired by the Middle Ages. Designed for all ages, the games range from quick and simple fun to more challenging skill-based activities. Whether you arrive with a team of budding explorers or a family eager for a new challenge, The New Famous Five and the Forgotten Treasure quest brings Corfe Castle to life in a fun and imaginative way. Solve clues, crack puzzles and uncover hidden secrets as you explore the ruins. We've teamed up with Blyton Books to bring this playful quest to life. On your quest, you might guide a ball through a twisty maze, figure out which key unlocks the padlock, step inside a spooky cool mock burial chamber or spot the map that just doesn't look quite right. And don't forget to take a fun photo at our face in the hole board before you head home. Whether you're climbing, exploring or solving clues together, this adventure is all about having fun and helping your team, just like the New Famous Five. The adventure continues across the Isle of Purbeck. The trail visits Studland during May half term and Brownsea Island during October half term. Complete all three quests to win a small prize.
