About this event

Four days rota is as follows, (1-to-1 tuition). Day 1: Wood preparation with precise measurements and marking. Footstool build start to finish. Hand tools introduction including planes, chisels, marking gauges, steel rule, set squares, etc. Day 2: Choice of jewellery box making (or bandsaw box) including wood inlays and corner keys, wood sanding and finishing, including hinges, etc. Hardwoods and softwoods explained. Day 3: To make accurate wood joints by hand including half-laps, bridle joints, mitre joints and mortice and tenons, etc. Explain the use of Templates and Jigs in wood projects. Day 4: Bandsaw box making or scroll saw practical and how to keep your tools razor sharp using a diamond stone. All other 240 v machinery demonstrated like Mitre saw, Routers, Bandsaw, Planners, Drill press, Plunge saws, Dremel, etc. Finishing the day with some important health and safety measures to keep you safe.
