Heritage Open Days is England's largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,500 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. It's your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences - and it's all FREE. Between 12 - 13 September, explore the story of Coleton Fishacre as it celebrates its 100th birthday.

Little Acorns Welly Walks

Discover the magic of the season with your little ones at Coleton Fishacre. During term time, explore the garden in the quiet moments before we open to the public, and take part in lots of creative activities on a welly walk. Come dressed for messy outdoor play – whatever the weather. Little Acorn sessions are suitable for children under 5 years old. Welly walks, activities and admission are all free. As these walks take place before opening hours, please meet at the Cafe. Please note Little Acorns does not take place during school holidays.

100 years of Coleton Fishacre

In honour of Coleton Fishacre's 100 years, there'll be a series of things to see and do over this year. Discover a pop-up photographic exhibition of archive images inside and out, documenting the building of the house and gardens. Join a guided walk with the Head Gardener, taking a look at how the team garden for nature, and on selected dates this summer immerse yourself in the Jazz Age with cocktail hour and dance lessons. In autumn there's the return of the Earth Photo 2026 exhibition with its contemporary imagery, and to finish the year in true 1920's style, a Christmas party with a bang. Monthly guided walks by the coast

Join the volunteer walking team on a free guided walk every month. June's walk is an exhilarating circular route around the coast. Meeting at Coleton Camp car park, the Walking Team will lead a moderately challenging walk taking in the rugged coast path with sea views. This walk is approx. 2 miles. Please wear weather appropriate footwear and clothing. Dogs welcome on a short lead. Please note there are no toilet facilities.
