You're warmly invited to our Good News Cafe, where a delicious 2-course meal, a glass of wine, and the joy of great company and uplifting conversation await you. To join us, please book online or call at least 7 days in advance, and let us know about any dietary needs. Each meal costs CCVW £13. However, we want to ensure this meal is accessible to all, especially those facing financial challenges. Donations are appreciated, whether online, in cash, or by card on the day (suggested contribution of £13). Step Up for a Better World

Learn to make lighter footsteps through God's creation. A one-day course to give you greater knowledge and skills to understand and reduce your carbon footprint. These training and discussion sessions lead to a positive mindset, hope for the future and action. You may think you know about climate change and that you are already doing your bit. But you will be surprised, by what extra you learn and how much extra you can do! Carbon Literacy is an accredited course and over 150,000 individuals from 8,000+ organisations are now Carbon Literate. A basic course structure is adapted to different industries, organisations and communities from aerospace to heritage houses. This course uses specific carbon literacy materials for church congregations and was piloted here at Christ Church in March 2025. What? Training and discussion leading to a greater awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities plus the ability and motivation to reduce emissions on an individual, community and organisational basis. We recommend that you complete the end of course form and apply to become formally Carbon Literate. Not compulsory but worthwhile.�� Why? The course helps to build knowledge and confidence in creating your own response to lower your carbon footprint and sharing your carbon knowledge with others. This is done in a Christian and supportive context.

Confident Parenting in a World of Screens

Join us on Thursday 11th June 7.30 – 9.30pm (coffee & registration from 7.15) Hardly a day goes by without news headlines about smartphones and social media and their effects on our children. They face a whole new level of complexity as they grow up in a digital world. It may seem overwhelming, but as parents and carers, there are so many things we can do to help them navigate it well and safely! Join us for an evening with Kate Duroux of Care for the Family to consider how we can support our children through the challenges of the digital world, whilst making the most of all the opportunities it brings. The session will include: What our children might be exposed to online, and the key issues to consider Practical skills and knowledge to stay ahead of the curve Principles to apply in our own unique families Input from Care for the Family as well as time to discuss with others and ask questions. Tickets available until 31st May. All Welcome - Admission Free - Donations Welcome. Speaker Kate Duroux, Care for the Family Kate is part of the Community Engagement Team at Care for the Family, and speaks regularly on parenting and relationships. She lives in London with her husband and they have two daughters aged 18 and 21. Care for the Family is a national charity whose aim is to strengthen family life: cff.org.uk
