Workshop: Create a Hand-Dyed Yarn Advent calendar - 2026 dates
Local gemCome and join us on an ADVENTure at the Peak District Yarns Studio! On this workshop, we’ll be getting in the festive spirit and you will create a very unique yarn advent calendar for you or a yarnworthy friend. As well as dyeing the yarn, you will go home with the packaging for your advent calendar, along with another surprise gift, ready for opening when December comes! The advent calendar comprises 25 x 20g mini-skeins. You can also purchase an optional undyed 100g skein (£13) to dye at the workshop to go with your mini skeins - perfect for opening on Xmas Day! Choose a 4-ply Merino Sock yarn, a Merino and Yak sock yarn, or a Merino-nylon double knit yarn for your advent. 500g of yarn are included in the price of this workshop - a set of 25 x 20g mini skeins. Maximum 4 participants per workshop. This is an intermediate-level workshop, and the basics of yarn dyeing are not covered in this workshop. If you are a complete beginner, we recommend you attend the Introduction to Yarn Dyeing workshop before attending this one. This workshop runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Teas, coffees and biscuits are provided through the day (let us know on booking of any dietary requirements). Lunch is not provided – you can either bring a packed lunch with you, or pop out to the local shops/cafe to grab something if you prefer. There may be some festive treats for you too! Like most of our workshops, this is a great one to do with your yarnie friends.
