At Lincolnshire Herbs, we grow, pack, and deliver a wide selection of fresh-cut and living herbs, all year round. Our glasshouse operates as a continuous production flow, moving plants through several clearly defined stages – from seed to finished product. At each stage, quality and plant health are closely monitored, and any losses are recorded so we can improve efficiency and sustainability. 1. Sowing Area – Starting from Seed 🌱 This is the first stage of growing. Seeds are sown into trays or plugs in controlled conditions. Temperature, humidity, light, and irrigation are carefully managed to ensure even germination. At this stage, plants are young and delicate, so close monitoring is essential. To give each plant the best possible start with strong, healthy roots. 2. Planting Area – Growing Phase (3–6 Weeks) 🌿 Once seedlings are strong enough, they are transferred to the planting area. Plants remain here for approximately 3 to 6 weeks, depending on the crop. They are spaced and watered precisely to support steady growth. Crop health checks happen daily – looking for signs of stress, pests, or disease. 3. Harvesting Area – Harvesting & Packing 📦 When the crop reaches the correct size and quality, it moves to the harvesting area. Plants are harvested at the optimal stage for freshness and shelf life. Products are trimmed if needed, checked for quality, and then packed into boxes. Purpose: To deliver fresh, high‑quality plants ready for customers. Key message for visitors: 5. Glasshouse Control – Operated by Priva 🌡️💧 Our entire glasshouse environment is managed using Priva climate control systems. Priva controls: Temperature Humidity Irrigation Ventilation Climate zones The system allows: Automated adjustments based on plant needs Consistent growing conditions Efficient use of water and energy Our growing team works closely with the system and can explain: How the settings are adjusted How crop data influences decisions How automation supports plant health and sustainability About this farm: Herb growing - Packing facility Highlights: Flowers and plants; Other Booking details: oksana.sobaszek@lincolnshire-herbs.co.uk
