Summer Serenade - Newchurch Male Voice Choir The Island's only 'traditional' male voice choir (MVC), Newchurch MVC began in 1967. The Choir's repertoire includes both sacred and secular songs, ranging from 'Morte Criste' to 'Sweet Caroline' and '16 tons', most arranged in four-part harmony. Over the years, the choir has varied in strength from around a dozen men to over present count is around two dozen active members. Tens of thousands of pounds have been raised by the choir for numerous local charities through its concerts. The choir has ventured off the Island - enjoying trips to numerous areas around Britain, and it has hosted visits from choirs not only from Britain but from as far afield as South Australia.
