2026 marks the 200th year of the Regatta! What better way to mark this anniversary and enjoy an early summers day, than with an outing of exhilarating action on The Solent chasing some of the World's best Yachtsmen and women. Cowes week brings 100's of yachts and sailors of all classes to the Isle of Wight and more importantly to the relatively small area of water that is The Solent. With several daily races Cowes week attracks over 200 yatchs- one of the most iconic dates in the yatching calendar!

A day at Sea photographing from close quarters the 2026 Round the Island Race

TimeLine Events are pleased to announce a second boat to capture the 2026 annual Round the Island Race, organised by the Island Sailing Club. For those of you that are not familiar with the race it is a one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight. The race regularly attracts over 1,400 boats and around 15,000 sailors, making it one of the largest yacht races in the world and the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon and the Great North and South Runs. Competitors come from all over the UK, other parts of Europe and as far away as the USA to follow the 50 nautical mile course round the Isle of Wight. Starting on the famous Royal Yacht Squadron line in Cowes, the fleet races westabout, to The Needles, round St Catherine's Point and Bembridge Ledge buoy, and back into the Solent to the finish race is a great opportunity to watch world-renowned sailors racing against families and first time racers.

Sail Grand Prix Racing day on the Solent

We are pleased to bring you an opportunity in 2026 to photograph the world famous Sail GP that was formerly called the America’s Cup World Series that will be visiting Portsmouth for a weekend of high speed, high end, action packed sailing! On this day and on our second day on the 26th July the official races take place so there will be plenty of high speed action and drama on the waves. Being on the water will offer spectacular views of the wonderful AC45 (45 foot flying catamarans) that will be racing just off shore adjacent to Southsea sea front. One major advantage of being ‘seaside’ will be the position of the Sun, at this time of year we will have it behind us giving the best light for photography.
