About this event

Working with domestic abuse and faith This CPD training for counsellors and psychotherapists will help develop competencies for working with victims/survivors of domestic abuse. You will become familiar with a 5-stage framework for working therapeutically with domestic abuse as well as learning a polyvagal-informed approach to working with domestic abuse and trauma, and working with domestic and spiritual abuse which has become internalised. About the trainer: Nikki Dhillon Keane is an accredited practitioner, clinical supervisor, writer and trainer with over 20 years’ experience working with survivors of domestic abuse in faith settings. Her books include “Domestic Abuse in Church Communities” (redemptorist) and she has worked with BACP and ACC to develop guidance and competencies for practitioners working with domestic abuse.
