About this event
Speaker – Simon Pawley. Simon will cover census history from Domesday Book, through subsequent collections of data and on to the Napoleonic wars and the need to establish potential soldier numbers. The familiar census format started in 1841 and he will talk on the evolution of our national census. There will also be advice on how to research and use the census in family history research. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
