About this event
Titled after the documentary film of the same name, the eponymous painting in this collection appears benign, even joyful, yet posits an unfolding ecological disaster with potentially far-reaching consequences. Elephants are a keystone species, meaning that many additional creatures such as zebras and impalas are dependant for their survival on the habitat-clearing work of elephants, who are known as “The Gardeners of Eden”. Each individual artwork involves hundreds of hours of painting, which follows days or sometimes weeks of research. Many of the works in this collection of predominantly large scale paintings are created with Natural Earth Paints, certified non-toxic with no harm to the environment. Because of their undiluted purity, these paints have a time-tested durability of thousands of years dating back to cave paintings, they have a connection with nature and the earth beneath our feet.
