This is our annual opportunity to get together as a whole church for a BBQ.  This year we will be at the River Hamble Country Park (formerly Manor Farm Country Park). We will gather from around 12.30pm after a shorter Sunday morning service giving us a chance to get there. We have Beech BBQ Site which is located along the edge of the Toplands field, offering fine views over Toplands and the countryside beyond. It is close to the water tap, toilets and has two wooden picnic tables. See map for location details River Hamble Map.pdf Bring along the following: - your own food to put on the BBQ or a picnic. - chairs or picnic blanket - any communal games you might have - money or card to pay for parking! We'll provide to share: Tomato sauce Mayo Burger sauce Napkins Parking charges — Up to 1 hour: £2.50 — Up to 2 hours: £5 — Up to 4 hours: £8 — Full day: £9.50  To help us plan, please sign up all members of your household by using the 'add additional person' at the bottom of the sign up page. Need a lift there or can offer a lift?  You will be able to let us know when you sign up.  Those giving lifts will be asked to take people from the church building after the morning service and drop back to the church building after the BBQ. Everyone is responsible for their own cooking, however, if anyone fancies manning the BBQ for others some of the time, let us know when you sign up. https://portswood.churchsuite.com/events/g10pv8d3

Kintsugi HOPE Well being Group

Who Is Kintsugi Hope For? Kintsugi Hope is a wellbeing group that aims to help address our emotional health.  Each week, a different topic is covered such as resilience, disappointment, anxiety and loss.  There is a mixture of videos, discussion in groups and personal reflection in a safe confidential space. When and Where? This is a 12 week course that will take place in our Lounge room at Portswood Church (opposite Waitrose), SO17 2FY on Thursdays evenings between 7-8.30pm starting on 16th April 2026 (term time only). Why is it called Kintsugi and what should I expect? Kintsugi HOPE Wellbeing course takes its inspiration from 'Kintsugi' which is a Japanese technique for repairing pottery with seams of gold.  The idea is to repair the brokenness in a way that makes the object more beautiful and even more unique, than it was prior to being broken.  Instead of hiding the scars, it makes a feature of them. Likewise, the aim of the Kintsugi HOPE wellbeing course is continue the process of repair and celebrate how our unique story has shaped the person we are today. How much does it cost? If you are able, we ask for a donation of £36 (£3 a week) towards the cost of the course materials and weekly refreshments (or £12 for students or those on benefits), however we never want finance to stop people accessing this amazing course so there is also the option to pay nothing at all, no questions asked. Is this the right group for me? In order to make sure that this is the right group...
