About this event
In this full day foraging class Station House has teamed up with foragers Rachel French and Andy Lord who have foraged locally for over 5 years. We’ll be hunting for Porcini, Chanterelles, Hedgehogs and Wild Berries. The day begins at 10am with teas, coffees and factsheets. We will then drive out to various locations close to the cookery school to learn all about how to ethically and safely forage. What you forage you get to keep! Then it’s back to the cookery school for a cookery demonstration using what we have foraged and of course, lots to taste! All equipment needed to forage will be supplied but please wear outdoor weatherproof clothing and strong, sturdy waterproof boots or wellingtons. We’ll be using the navigation app ‘What 3 Words’ for the locations. If possible familiarise yourself with the app. If not, we’ll try to team you up with a partner! We have chosen a good time for mushroom foraging but can’t ‘guarantee’ how many we will find. As we are offsite from the cookery school you will need to sign a disclaimer on the morning regarding trips, falls and anything you may forage independently after the class.
