Delve into the life of Beethoven with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra on Saturday 31 October. Enjoy readings, performances, discussion and debate at Canford School and learn more about the man behind some of the most famous and influential works in the classical music canon. Beethoven’s life will be illustrated by readings from his letters by accomplished stage and screen actor, Samuel West, accompanied by excerpts from his string quartets; percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie will help us understand more about the musical and social implications of deafness; and Beethoven aficionado, John Suchet, talks about his Beethoven biography. The afternoon ends with an ‘Any Questions’ debate chaired by Jonathan Dimbleby.
