Join a tour with Head Gardener Joshua Sparkes and see all aspects of Birch Farm and its Natural Farming methods through the seasons. With over 17 acres to explore Josh will show you everything that Birch Farm has been developing to ensure that we can grow our food in harmony with nature. Learn about Birch Farms innovative take on agroforestry, to produce food and protect biodiversity, along with how the farm plans to develop more perennial vegetables to incorporate into the menu at our pub, The Farmers Arms. The tour will also include looking at the farm's ornamental rubble garden built from reclaimed waste, plant and tree propagation, our glasshouses and how the farm makes soil inoculants from household waste. Also you will learn about how the farm prepares planting beds and how its complex vegetable polycultures are planted. The methods you see from the tour can easily be translated into your own garden, no matter how big or small! Book for a 10am or 2pm tour.
