It draws on core influences of Indian classical music, Sufi and Celtic folk string traditions, alongside inspirations from Ry Cooder, Egberto Gismonti, Joni Mitchell and Benjamin Britten. Her latest album, Meteor Trail, released on Oti-O Records, has drawn much critical acclaim. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided. Please do come along to learn more about cancer, the importance of early awareness, and the support services available within the community. It will also be an opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and connect with others in a relaxed and supportive environment. The talk is for anyone who wants to learn more about cancer prevention and early diagnosis, and will cover: separating cancer myths from facts and where to find reliable information about cancer how to reduce the risk of cancer the importance of spotting cancer early support services available to improve your health Note: this presentation has been provided by Cancer Research UK but Is not being delivered by one of their Talk Cancer trainers. MHSG is excited to be teaming up with the trailblazing community horticulturalists at Wolves Lane Centre in Wood Green, to offer a packed, free programme of tours and talks focused on: community growing a fairer, healthier, more sustainable food future the restoration of urban wetlands and increasingly vital Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) This fascinating 4-hour event will include: a guided tour of the 3.5 acre site by director Yvonne Field OBE an optional fresh, vegan lunch (£8 to £10 extra) expert talks from: Paulette Henry, co-founder of Ubele Initiative and their Black Rootz project (the UK’s first multigenerational Black-led growing project) Nick Oliver from WWT’s London Wetland’s Centre and an expert on SuDS, who will be discussing their work restoring these vital resources for carbon storage, biodiversity, natural habitat and flooding and pollution control Book your free tickets and find out more here and join us for a day of celebrating both SOUL and SOIL!
