We are excited to announce that National Allotments Week is returning from 10th – 16th August 2026! Since its launch in 2002, this annual initiative has been a vital celebration of the allotment movement. It’s a week dedicated to highlighting how our plots help us live healthier lifestyles, grow our own fresh food, build lifelong friendships, and strengthen the local community. This year’s theme is “Grow to Learn.” Whether you’re a seasoned gardener sharing decades of wisdom or a newcomer discovering the joy of your first harvest, allotments are places of constant discovery. This August, we want to celebrate the educational side of our sites, from learning about soil health and biodiversity to teaching the next generation where their food comes from. To celebrate National Allotments Week, BALGA will soon be publicising our own special event! We are currently hard at work planning something fantastic to bring our community together and showcase our wonderful sites. Keep a close eye on our website and noticeboards—we will be announcing the full details very shortly. You won’t want to miss it!
