Join us at Charterhouse for a weekend of all things bookish including books talks, discussions, live music, theatre performances, new and old books and packed with books, crafts, bookish merch and over 50 indie authors. Coventry Festival of Books is about to write its very first chapter, and you’re invited to be part of the story. Taking place over one spectacular weekend on 11th - 12th July 2026, this brand-new festival is the first of its kind for Coventry, transforming the city into a true book lover’s paradise. From page-turning talks to hands-on workshops, immersive exhibits to creative activities, this is a full weekend celebration of books, literacy, art and history, with a few delightful plot twists along the way. Summer Sounds at Coventry Charterhouse

Join us at Coventry Charterhouse for Summer Sounds - a curated programme of live acoustic performances set within the beautiful walled garden. On the first Friday of every month from June to September (7-9pm), the garden stays open late for relaxed evenings filled with music, heritage and atmosphere. Bring a picnic and soak up the stunning surroundings as you enjoy the sounds of incredible local talent from across Coventry. The evening is all about unwinding with great music, good company and a welcoming, relaxed vibe. Guided tours of the historic house will be available (subject to availability), offering the chance to explore the rich history of the 14th-century former monastery. Drinks, cakes and savouries will be served from the café, and picnic boxes can be pre‑booked directly from Farmers Fayre. The cafe will be open from 9am until 9pm. Normal admission applies – free for National Trust members and Go CV+ cardholders.
