This Megafinal tournament is a qualifying event for the Gigafinals which take place from June-August. Each Megafinal is a one-day rapidplay event with each player playing 6 rounds of chess. Certificates for all and trophies/medals for the top finishers in each section. The UK Chess Challenge, proudly sponsored by Delancey, first took place in 1996 and has since grown into one of the largest junior chess tournaments in the world. Over 1 million children have taken part since 1996! The list of previous winners includes several grandmasters and international players. You can park in the car parks nearby (Blue Badge parking is available), bikes can be locked up just outside the building, and it is near the Haymarket Metro station, also the bus stops outside the Civic Centre. Please come to the side door with the banner, and we will have someone there to let you in! Alternatively, if you find yourself at another door, press the intercom button and the library staff will let you in. If you have problems finding us on the day, please call: ****.
