Understanding and supporting people with dementia

We are delighted to host two informative evenings for anyone who is affected by dementia. They will be especially helpful for those who have friends or loved ones suffering from the disease. There is a session on understanding dementia and one on supporting people living with dementia. We encourage you to attend both sessions if possible. Please book in below so that we can prepare adequate resources and meet in an appropriately sized space at St Paul's. 22 June - Supporting people living with Dementia 7:30 – 9 pm (hot/cold drinks served from 7:15) This evening will be led by experienced Anna Chaplain Maggie Dodd who regularly visits people with dementia and who has had personal experience of caring for a family member who had Alzheimers. People with dementia may have lost capacity and some of their likes and dislikes may have changed but they have the same needs and hopes - they're still very much the same person they were and need to be valued.
