Get ready to explore the magic of nature with this fun and playful workshop. Great for anybody who would like to explore eco-friendly art. We'll be making natural inks from hedgerow, kitchen and garden. In this workshop, you will learn which plants to forage and how to use a selection of plant samples. We will cook up a variety of autumn plants, from sloe berries, hawthorn berries, elderberries to walnuts and alder cones, depending on what is available in the season. The plants will be used to extract colour for botanical inks. You will also sample ink made by longer processes such as oak gall. Toward the end of the session, you will have time to get creative and experiment with different colours and consistencies, using different substances to alter colours and test a variety of application techniques.
