Discover stories hidden in objects, photographs, and archives — then bring them to life using a variety of exciting materials and techniques. From painting and collage to mixed media and experimental making, each session offers a new way to create together. No experience needed — just imagination! Walk – Expansion Of Old Amersham

A fascinating walk, led by a guide, around old Amersham. Discover the historic buildings and the interesting stories of the people who lived in and shaped the town in the past. The workhouses of Amersham Coaching inns and 18th and 19th century travel Social housing Cottage industries Post War development: – Brazils factory to Tesco – Gas Works to offices – Bus Garage to retirement homes – Workhouse to hospital 1½ to 2 hours. We strongly recommending booking your tickets in advance to guarantee your place on our walks. While we will do our best to accommodate people on the day, places are subject to availability. Notes If you would like to visit the museum on the same day as your walk, this is possible from 11:30am before the walk starts, but there is not time after the walk finishes. If you have queries about accessibility or routes, please get in touch and we would be happy to provide you with detailed information. Please make sure you have checked details before ordering tickets. It is necessary for the museum to charge a cancellation fee of £1 to cover credit card and administration costs.

Reminiscence Group

Join us at our monthly reminiscence group where we share our stories and memories from the past. Everyone is welcome, whether you are a long time Amersham resident, new to the area, or simply interested in meeting new people. We often look at objects from the museum’s collections to get us chatting, talk about a particular theme, or get involved in wider museum projects. These sessions are sociable, stimulating and fun. The sessions are free and last for around an hour and always include tea, coffee and biscuits. You are very welcome to bring a family member, friend or carer. The sessions are held in our first floor room, but there is lift access. Please get in touch if you have any queries.
