Club 33.3 Presents … ‘Moon Pix’ by Cat Power Club 33.3 is a celebration of the vinyl album. Each month we invite music fans to step into our Loft and enjoy the breath-taking view as a selected LP plays on vinyl, in full, as the artist intended. Some albums will be familiar, some less so, making Club 33.3 the place to enjoy an old favourite or discover something new. August’s selection is ‘Moon Pix’, by Green Man 2026 headliner Cat Power. Supposedly written after a hallucinatory nightmare and recorded over five days in Melbourne with members of Dirty Three, it is widely regarded by fans and critics alike as Cat Power’s strongest album and by the artist herself as the album that saved her life. Each month, Club 33.3 also recommends a book to take you deeper into the story behind the LP. This month’s book is from Bloomsbury’s 33 1/3 series; ‘Moon Pix’, by Donna Kozloskie, blends contemporary testimony and published album reviews with fictional imaginings to explore the mythology, musicianship and magic that each play a key role in Chan Marshall’s masterpiece and persona. All tickets include one beer, glass of wine or soft drink, while all book pre-orders will also benefit from a 20% discount.
