Irving Berlin – The Man Who Wrote America’s Songbook Presented by Jonathan Bergwerk Culture Hub @ Mosaic invites you to join us for a light lunch before a fascinating illustrated talk by Jonathan Bergwerk about Irving Berlin, who rose from a poor Jewish immigrant in New York’s Lower East Side to become the most successful songwriter in American history. With a career spanning more than 60 years, over 1,500 songs, 19 Broadway shows and 18 films, his music helped define American culture, from Alexander’s Ragtime Band to White Christmas and There’s No Business Like Show Business. With video clips of his most memorable songs, this presentation brings to life the wit, charm, ambition and vulnerability of the man who wrote the soundtrack to 20th-century America. Please book via the Mosaic website by Wednesday April 8th for catering purposes. There is a £7 charge which will increase to £10 from April 9th . Jonathan Bergwerk is an occupational psychologist who talks widely on the lives of eminent Jews, both ancient and modern. Each presentation outlines the individual’s life and psychology. and their contribution to society.
