Inspired by Calke's historic herbarium, join photographic artist Dean Leivers to create your own cyanotype print. Cyanotype prints are made by creating light sensitive surfaces, and coating materials with chemicals that change colour when exposed to UV light. By placing materials on the surface (e.g dust, earth, plants) we can leave behind an impression of the objects. Dean will guide you through this hands-on experience to create your own Cyanotype print along with sharing the history of this historically important and creatively inspiring approach to photography. Sessions are relaxed and suitable for beginners. All materials will be provided and there’s no additional charge for taking part. No pre-booking required - come along to the Riding School rear doors at the time of the workshop you’d like to attend. Spaces are limited to the first 30 people. Sessions will take place on Saturday 20 June and Thursday 16 July in the Riding School at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 2.30pm. Normal admission applies.
