About this event
From April 2026, HMRC is introducing Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax, bringing significant changes to how sole traders and landlords record and report their income. In the workshop we will cover: Who needs to comply including income thresholds that bring you into MTD What it means in practical terms for small businesses, from digital record-keeping and quarterly submissions to the transition away from annual self-assessment tax returns When tax payments are due and how the new reporting system fits around existing payment deadlines Why it’s important to be proactive rather than re-active (even when the legislation will already be in place by the time we run the workshop) How MTD can actually benefit small businesses, rather than becoming another compliance tick box While it may feel like another layer of regulation, MTD can help small businesses stay closer to their numbers and avoid the stress of last-minute surprises. With the right systems and approach, it can become a helpful change rather than a burden. This talk is designed to give clarity, reassurance, and practical steps to feel confident managing businesses under the new rules.
