A walk by local bat expert James Shipman. Did you know bats can live for up to 30 years? James explains where they live, how they fly in the dark, and why they are so important and protected by law. After a brief talk outside the Museum, James will help us to see several species that emerge at dusk nearby (weather dependent).The meeting point for the walk is at the front of West Berkshire Museum, outside the main entrance (on the wide pavement). The event starts promptly at 9.45pm. There will be no access to West Berkshire Museum before, during or after the event. Featuring traditional English folksongs, self-written material and toe-tapping dance tunes, Midsummer Revels is a glorious feel-good evocation of sunny days, blue skies and green fields.Songs of lad, sea, town and country are brought to life on a plethora of instruments such as English border bagpipes, mandocello and shawm, all underscored with GreenMatthews’ trademark wit and humour. TVP Anti-Theft Bike Tagging Service at Newbury Better Health and Fitness Centre

On Wednesday 10th June 2026 from 2.00 pm – 7.00 pm, the Thames Valley Police will be providing a free Anti-Theft bike tagging service at Newbury Better Health and Fitness Centre (Park Way, RG14 1EE). This initiative is aimed at helping to prevent and reduce bike theft across the Newbury area. The event is open to everyone in the community, and we would love to see as many people as possible to come along and take advantage of this free service. Protect your bike, meet the local policing team, and help us make Newbury a safer place for cyclists.
