‘In conversation:  Authors Dr Agnes Grunwald-Spier MBE and Hester Abrams on the challenges and joys of writing our history’. What does it take to write a book of Jewish history? Agnes Grunwald-Spier, a Holocaust survivor, has published three history books on the Holocaust – The Other Schindlers, Who Betrayed the Jews? and Women’s Experiences in the Holocaust – and she and Hester Abrams each have a work in progress: a memoir of Agnes’s Hungarian family, and Hester’s non-fiction book inspired by Willesden Cemetery. In this evening’s conversation for Brondesbury Park Synagogue, the two Bpark members explore what compels them to write, how they research their material, and the impact of their work on readers. Signed copies of Agnes’s books will be available for purchase at the event.
