Explorations in the art of resistance and resilience. Axis of Resilience is a creative group therapy with a twist. Expect grief and rage via sharing circles, somatic exercises, dance, art therapy via collage and zine making! – FREE [+ £5 suggested donation to the venue, online, cash or card] – Grief & Rage Circle / Art Therapy – Postcards to political prisoners – Fortnightly [1st & 3rd Saturday of the month] Follow Axis Of Resilience on Instagram. Margate Textile Society meeting

Weekly meetings around the love of textile techniques, materials, styles, meanings, socio-political impact and potential for change and healing whilst honing and sharing timeless skills. No previous experience required. Bring your project or start one here! Tools, supplies, and support available. Donations of fabrics and yarn always appreciated. Drop-in £5 or £15 monthly, including refreshments [cake, teas and juice]. No one turned away for lack of funds. Free of under 18 or over 65. Ph: The first quilt is coming together! Two hundred and fifty of the about 1,000 fabric hexagons needed for this classic paper-pieced English quilt are now ready, as more hands join in to stitch it together. This beauty will be auctioned in support of the Weaving an Axis of Resilience: Manar, Daughter of Palestine initiative next September. Italian sourdough pizza with vegan and gluten-free options; bar with beers, ciders, cocktails and Italian wines; Thursday potato gnocchi & tiramisù; teas and brews, all served from 6pm. Sand art is a gentle, hands-on activity where children sprinkle and layer colourful sand to create a picture or bottle to take home as a keepsake. It’s simple, absorbing and wonderfully satisfying.
