About this event

One of the Festival’s favourite authors joins us with non-fiction for the first time. In 1976 a young schoolteacher and his even younger family left London for a remote farm in rural Devon. 50 years later Sir Michael Morpurgo (for it was he) returns to Henley with Lady Clare Morpurgo and his most personal book yet, Down Burrow Lane. Hear about the magical place that inspired War Horse and Private Peaceful - and has welcomed over 100,000 young people with their charity Farms for City Children. This event is in partnership with The Independent.
