On this beginners two-day workshop, printmaker, Hester Cox will reveal just why collagraph will always be her favourite method of printmaking and hopefully you'll be hooked too. Using birds, real or imagined, as your inspiration, the first day will be spent exploring collage, cutting and painting techniques to create textural printing plates that are often as lovely as the prints. On the second day you will print your birds - both in monochrome and colour. You will discover what papers work best to print on, how to prepare them for printing and how to use pressure to get the best detail. You will be given lots of one-to-one guidance and encouragement and there will be numerous samples on hand to get your ideas flowing. Please note there is a £7 materials charge for this workshop payable on the day. Click on the title below to find a list of what you’ll need to bring with you if anything.
