Harry Baker and Tom Syson (aka SYSON) bring their unique blend of original music and arrangements to PizzaExpress Live Soho for the launch of their brand new E.P. This a unique cross-genre project, with influences from jazz, classical and singer songwriter traditions. Whilst this is predominately a duo musical exploration project, it is expanded into a quartet for this tour featuring the renowned Conor Chaplin (double bass) and Dave Hamblett (drums). They will perform arrangements from the likes of Cyrille Aimee, Laura Mvula and John Scofield, alongside jazz standards and classical masterpieces, as well as numerous original scores. Harry Baker is an award-winning British pianist and arranger active at the highest levels of both jazz and classical performance. As a jazz musician, he has worked with Jamie Cullum, Misha Mullov-Abbado and others at venues including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and King’s Place. As a classical pianist, collaborations with sopranos Fatma Said (Warner Classics), Danielle de Niese (Metropolitan Opera) and cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason have led to performances at Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall and the Verbier Festival. Recent international touring highlights include the Edinburgh International Festival, Lucerne Festival and Konzerthaus Berlin.
