Ale Day returns for 2026! Celebrating brewing, history and hospitality. Join Halesworth for a day of fantastic events; brewery talks, beer making demos, guided walks by local history experts, the Malt experience exhibition & tours at the Cut Arts Centre, walks along the Blyth Road Navigation to the site of the restored HSNGR, follow the Ale Trail taking you around former and current pub locations.  Fantastic live music from East Angles Brass, Blyth River Blues Band, Ballard Bootleggers & Daisy & the Continentals. Sample the exclusive Halesworth Ale – being brewed especially for the Halesworth Ale Day by Tindall Brewery. Head up to the Drinks Market in the Market Place to purchase bottle of Ale, Cider, Wine, Spirits, Cocktails, vouchers, merch and more from local producers. Enjoy Halesworth’s pedestrianised Thoroughfare – grab a bite to eat in one of the award winning deli’s or cafes and enjoy the live music. Head up to Chinny’s for a game of Snooker, Pool or darts. Sample local ales and visit The Tap Room for their Beer Festival, the White Hart, The Angel and The Swan.

NATALIE MEG EVANS – LOVE, LOSS AND THE BLITZ: WHY SHE WRITES STORIES OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR To celebrate the publication of The Lady at the Lodging House, bestselling historical novelist Natalie Meg Evans presents an illustrated talk exploring why she is drawn again and again to stories set during the Second World War. Through the drama of the London Blitz, Natalie discusses how wartime fiction allows ordinary lives, friendships, courage and heartbreak to be seen at their most intense. Her latest trilogy of novels follows three young women sharing a Mayfair lodging house while bombs fall across the capital and their personal lives become as turbulent as the city around them. Natalie is the author of 17 novels and has appeared on The New York Times top 100 list. She also writes murder mystery novels as Kay Blythe. Talk and refreshments are free, but donations to the Friends are always welcome. Halesworth Harmony invite you to an evening of song and poetry celebrating summer and the natural world. Halesworth Harmony invite you to an evening of song and poetry celebrating summer and the natural world. Some of the songs are arrangements of award-winning Spell Songs – “a musical evolution of both ‘The Lost Words’ & ‘The Lost Spells’ books by acclaimed author Robert Macfarlane and renowned author and artist Jackie Morris” (from the Choral Songbook Concert Programme). Others are new to us, evoking feelings of summer, and some are from our repertoire.
