BOOK NOW @ In collaboration with Vintage Trains, enjoy a day out on the Cambrian Coast Line and celebrate the Talyllyn Railway’s 75th Anniversary! Join us in continuing to create history on Vintage Trains’ inaugural train over the scenic Cambrian Coast line on Friday 17th April. We are proud to announce a celebration express train, The Cambrian Coast Express from Birmingham to the Talyllyn Railway at Tywyn, on the Cambrian Coast to celebrate this preservation milestone featuring: Double-headed Class 37 English Electric Diesel locomotives Double-headed Talyllyn Railway special train with both original locomotives: No. 1 Talyllyn and No. 2 Dolgoch – when booking, check the box to add tickets for this to your booking Our English Electric Type 3 diesel 37240 will haul our train from Widney Manor From Shrewsbury to Pwllheli (and return) our train will be hauled by one of Network Rail’s class 97 English Electric Type 3 diesels double heading with our own 37240, calling at Tywyn for the Talyllyn Railway. The excellent Narrow Gauge Railway Museum at Tywyn Wharf will be open for passengers The Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society was formed in Birmingham in October 1950 and ran the World’s first volunteer run train service in May 1951.
