Dulverton Gardening Club August Garden Visit Wednesdy 12 August – ABBOTSBURY SUB-TROPICAL GARDENS A world-renowned garden with exotic, unusual subtropical plants and flowers is what the Gardens are known for. The Gardens are a mixture of formal and informal flowers, world famous for its Camellia groves and Magnolias. Noted in Dorset for its Rhododendron and Hydrangea collections and the charming Victorian Garden. The Plant Centre gives you an opportunity to take home a little piece of Abbotsbury, with a variety of plants that have been tried and tested over decades by the gardens. On Friday 12 June, Dulverton Films at Dulverton Town Hall presents… H IS FOR HAWK (Cert 12A) Director: Philippa Lowthorpe 119 mins Helen (Claire Foy), after the sudden death of her father (Brendan Gleeson), loses herself in the memories of their time birding and exploring the natural world together and turns the ancient art of falconry, rooted in European tradition, training a wild goshawk named Mabel to navigate her profound loss. But as she teaches Mabel to hunt and fly free, Helen discovers how deeply she has neglected her own emotions and life. What begins as an act of endurance transforms into an intimate journey of resilience and healing. Tickets-Dulverton Films members £3, non-members £5, students, accompanied by an adult, £2.50.
