Listen Dance is an evening of live music and dancing from Olivier Award-winning Little Bulb. Led by a genre-hopping 9-piece live band, you’ll be invited onto the dance floor to try a range of different social dances, from ceilidh to disco, and there’s even a beginner’s guide to moshing! Every dance is opt-in and beginner-friendly. You don’t need to know the moves, you just need to show up. With Little Bulb’s signature theatrical charm, Listen Dance is a life-affirming night out that celebrates the past, present and future of social dance. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes moving, always joyful, all are welcome. Listen Dance has been supported by Arts Council England, The Octagon Theatre &amp; Westlands Entertainment Venue, Reading South Street and Reading University.

Salisbury Arts Centre Pop-Up Café

Join us at our trial pop-up cafe, staffed by volunteers with a passion for the Arts Centre and for creating a welcoming space for local people in a building that so many people love. Open from 10 – 2pm on a range of dates this Spring/Summer. Check our pop-up dates before popping along to our pop-up for a cup of tea and a cake beneath the stained glass of St Edmunds. Everyone is welcome, from babes-in-arms to our arts centre elders, with a £2 hot drink always available so that a catch-up with friends need not cost the earth.

Medieval Clock Demonstration

See and hear the world’s oldest working mechanical clock in action. Made in 1386 or earlier, it is mounted in an iron frame and has no dial. In the past the clock struck a bell to remind the priests to pray. Come and watch while the mechanism is unlocked allowing the clock to strike a bell as it first did over 600 years ago. This demonstration lasts 10 to 15 minutes.
