He has published several bestselling collections of poetry, including You Took the Last Bus Home, Alexa, What is there to Know About Love? and Days Like These. His novel Diary of a Somebody was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award, and he has also written collections of poetry for younger readers. In 2025 he released an album of his poetry set to music, Sounds Made by Humans, in collaboration with The Catenary Wires. This autumn sees Brian return to the stage, including an Evening in Winchester Bapsy Hall, with his latest book, How to Lay an Egg with a Horse Inside.

@ The Basic and Foundation courses must be completed prior to this course. The Leadership Pathway comprises of two 90-minute Zoom sessions, with workbook tasks before each session and a reflective evaluation after the final session. Both session dates must be attended and the reflective evaluation returned, to complete this course. The 2nd Zoom session for this cohort is on Monday 15 June 2026 at 9:30am. To book a place, please go to the CofE Training Portal and log in with your username and password. Scroll down to the ‘Courses’ section, click on ‘Leadership’ tab, then ‘Winchester – Leadership’, then ‘Enrol me.’ Fill in your details, submit them, and we will email you back as soon as possible to confirm your enrolment.
