Green Riders Skills Session This session is designed for newer riders who are developing the fundamental skills required to ride trails safely, confidently, and with control. Through a combination of fun games, engaging activities, and progressive coaching exercises, riders will build confidence on their bikes whilst learning the core techniques that form the foundation of mountain biking. Sessions take place in a supportive environment where riders are encouraged to progress at their own pace and develop good riding habits from the outset. The session focuses on developing key riding skills, balance, and bike control, helping riders become more comfortable on a variety of terrain and trail features. Riders will learn how to: ● Ride with level pedals and maintain a strong, neutral riding position ● Stand whilst riding and move confidently on the bike ● Look ahead and plan their route effectively ● Start and stop safely and under control ● Use their brakes effectively and confidently ● Corner smoothly without putting a foot down ● Navigate simple trail features and obstacles ● Develop balance, coordination, and overall bike handling skills Sessions are designed to be enjoyable, challenging, and confidence building, allowing riders to practise skills through a variety of activities and trail based exercises. As riders progress, they will begin to refine these core techniques, developing greater control, flow, and efficiency on varied terrain.
