Tutor and guitarist Thomas Walsh will be coming in to showcase music for ten-string guitar. In two parts, the programme will be centred around a transcription on JS Bach’s Suite In G Minor for Lute in its original key as well as its original range. The second part will consist on a new work by the Persian composer Golfam Khayam. Written in 2022 for Thomas and the ten-string guitar, this piece explores the instruments unique capabilities while also exploring new techniques for the rare instrument. The multi-movement work classical contemporary music as well as traditional classical Persian music.
